HR 4437 (the Border Protection, Antiterrorism & Illegal Immigration Control Act of 2005) has two major concerns for Iowa lawyers and their clients:

Federal Legislation Proposed (Please Review)
HR 4437 is proposed federal legislation that could have wide-ranging negative impact for Iowa attorneys and their clients. Because it was introduced just last week and is going to vote on Thursday, December 15, the Board of Governors for The Iowa State Bar Association
has not had time to take an official position on it. However, because of the serious nature of this bill we urge Iowa Bar members to review the material below. You are encouraged to contact Iowa members in the U.S. House of Representatives and voice any concerns that you may have regarding the proposed federal legislation. A list of contact numbers follows the summary below.
IOLTA grant Applications

Iowa Court Rule 7.11 Amended
Chief Justice Lavorato signed a legislative report amending Iowa
Court Rule 7.11 Form 1 (Report of Referee). The amendments take effect
