The International Law Section is soliciting interest in sending a delegation of Iowa attorneys to Havana, Cuba April 4-10, 2005. The delegation will be open to all members of the ISBA on a first come first serve basis. The delegation will have a unique opportunity to exchange views with Cuban lawyers, judges, law professors, Cuban foreign ministry, the US State Department and foreign consultants as well as to meet the people and walk the streets of a truly unique city. We plan to request approval for 10-15 CLE credits for the trip. The delegation will be limited to approximately 30 attorneys. The cost of the trip inclusive of airfare from Cancun, Mexico to Havana, hotel, Cuban transportation, presentations, and most meals will be approximately $2400. In addition each participant will be responsible for his or her own airfare to Cancun. We will provide more information in mid-December. In the meantime, if you are interested in becoming a part of the delegation please let Kelly Rue know of your interest ( krue@iowabar.org ) or 515-243-3179. If you have questions you would like answered at this time either contact Kelley and we will try to get them answered.
